  • Most sharks give birth to live pups but there are a handful that deposit egg cases with the shark embryo inside. The case gets attached to seaweed or kelp to anchor it and the embryo develops inside the case. When the shark is developed, it splits open one end of the case and swims out, ready to hunt.
