During and after the war (II), When women were forced into the workforce, they also began becoming more active in the world of sports. Colleges and Universities started introducing women's basketball and ice hockey. In 1924, the first Canadian woman competed in the Olympics, a 15 year old figure skater from Quebec.

The 20's were a time when women in Canada really broke out of their shell and showed what they were made of. It's not hard to see what they're considered the Golden Age.

Because it was a period when women engaged in organised sports in unprecedented numbers. It was also when Canada first sent women to the Olympic Games. The Golden Age ended in the 1930s.
