My boyfriend's pet bird sometimes follows me. I think the bird does it because it knows it freaks me out. It doesn't seem to like me very much. :)

Yes, I've hatched out chicks, ducklings and goslings and then have claimed me as their mom and followed me everywhere. And we had one parrot that used to climb down from her playground and chase me around the house.

There are red winged black birds that nest in trees along the sidewalk where I live. If you walk by there during nesting season, they follow you and "dive bomb" you until you've passed by. It's really kind of annoying, but I understand why they do it.
