    Actually, the only truthful answer to this question is this. The higher demomination machines generally pay a better percentage. the reason for this is that the casinos are making a lot more money from 8% of a $5 machine player than they are from 25% of a nickel machine player.

    Casinos constantly designate and redesignate, which machines will give the better paybacks. its done by design of the machine and location. speaking of location, the so-called hot slots use to be on the end of a row of machines or by the cashier. the latest location is in the middle of a row of slot machines. meaning, if this machine hits a jackpot, the surrounding players will play more, wanting another jackpot. the sights and sounds of a winning jackpot slot machine, are stronger than a cigarette habit. ask any gambler. also remember, some casinos have time periods or blocks of hours, that slots will pay more, rather than other times. casinos usually designate a block as days, afternoon or night. as a player, you will never know which block of time is the lucky block. casinos want to keep it that way.

    There's no way to answer this that is going to work every day at every casino (or even half the days at half the casinos) I've heard things about slots in high traffic areas, near doors, etc, but in the end, they're all wallet cleaners.

    Let's put it this way: You lose $1,000 to a slot machine, the next guy walks up and wins $2,000. The payout rate is 200% and it still cleaned you out.
