  • Yes, that is why he became a cop in the first place. Power!!!
  • yeap ain't nothing you can do about it neither!
  • The police can randomly run the registration on any vehicle at any time. there is not a law forbidding the police from doing so. many stolen cars have been recovered in this manner and is a common everyday, police practice. this is why we have computer laptops in police cars. The "looling at him" part, requires more of an explanation, than you have given. Please advise.
  • Seems a bit ridiculous that he's going to pull you over just because you looked at him. Sometimes, I think they harass. No offense to any police officers on this page.
  • he can run anyones plates he cant pull you over for nothing but by you looking at him he could kinda say he had reason for suspicion which would be bull but he could still get away with it they also have to have your permission to search your car unless they have reason for suspicion but if you say no to them when they ask then they can say they had reason for suspicion purely because you said no
  • Cops invent reasons, that`s how they pass their time in their otherwise boring days.
  • They can run your plates, pull you over, search your car etc for kicks and giggles. They can't though open any locked compartments or the trunk if locked unless they find something in the vehicle that would constitute that. Such as drugs, etc. So place all stuff you want to hide in locked places and don't leave shit in the cab of your car.
  • They do it all the time, it's called fishing. Just remember if he asks your permission to look in the vehicle simply state, *I do not consent to any search of my vehicle, am I free to leave?* Force him to work for it.
  • and if he does something he "can't" do, what are we supposed to do about it?
