Help answer this question below.

I couple weeks ago my car all of the sudden started losing power when I put my foot on the gas and then 2 minutes later it stalled and won't even turn over now. Any ideas?

    My daughters car did this, it was the distributor shaft that needed to be replaced.
    Do the radio and lights still work? If yes, then it is not the alternator. When the alternator quits then the car runs solely on the battery until it is dead, so you would have a dead battery and would not have had a loss of power until the battery died. It would not be the timing belt cuz when they break, they are gone period, and your car would not have continued to run for several minutes.
    Have the distributor checked and good luck.

    Sounds to me like the alternator died.

    If you ran the car without oil for a while, the pistons would weld themselves into the engine block and cause this problem.

    I have seized an engine before. It does not make a bang, it just stops.
