I couple weeks ago my car all of the sudden started losing power when I put my foot on the gas and then 2 minutes later it stalled and won't even turn over now. Any ideas?

• If the car isn't turning over, that's a pretty good indicator the battery is dead.

• He didn't say it wasn't cranking,only that it will not turn over.. timing is screwed up from distributor. We still don't know if the battery is dead.

• Well, terminology can be a problem sometimes. To me "cranking" and "turning over" are the same thing. If the enging turns over because the plugs are firing, but not starting, I still call that "turning over".

• OK, point made. But she did not say that the car was dead. only that it would not turn over.
  The battery may now be dead if she tried so many times to turn it over too.

• If this happened, there most likely would have been a loud bang with the freeze up of the engine.

• There wasn't a loud bang, but it was almost bone dry of oil prior to this happening. Of course there were no oil puddles or indicator lights on to let me know something was up. I gave it the oil it needed and then it died 2 days later.
