I have done that a few times myself, and while some will undoubtedly get annoyed, I don't think many will, for others do the same as you and I.
-
No of course not. Were all here for one thing, ANSWERS. It understandable.

Meh, whatever works for ya man. Sounds logical to me. Me personally though, I dig the comments. =)
-
It all depends for me what's going on in the comments. If a couple of AB'ers are playing catch up with what is happening in their lives, I'll unsubscribe . Or if they are wanting to bicker back and forth, I'm otta there.

the idea never occurred to me. It might be worth trying, but I can still handle the number of comments I get.

I think it kind of depends if you comment back, it's kind of rude to cut yourself off from an further reply. If you were face to face and you just closed yourself off from them personally, I don't think that's too cool. But if it's just two people commenting back and forth, yeah, it doesn't involve you so I can understand that. I rarely unsubscribe and don't find it a problem. If someone wants to add something or someone else may come back and add a comment, I'd like to know. Why stop at just reading the one comment. If I am looking for information, I find that many people only add underneath some people's answers and don't make their own comment. If I unsubbed all the time, I'd miss all that.
-
A lot of times, comment threads take wild turns. If I am no longer into the conversation, I unsubscribe. No big deal. No one knows if you are subscribed or not.
-
I don't unsubscribe because I want to read other people's view on a question or answer. After all, everyone is entitled to his or her opinion.
