Why aren*t there national taxi chains (much like how Target is a national store chain?) Why are all taxi companies local?

    Yellow cabs are nationwide. do they qualify as a chain cab service?

    Up until the 1960's, roughly, Yellow Cab was a franchise system. It broke apart and most went independent. Now Yellow Cab is a generic name and can be used by almost anyone. There should be a national chain/franchise/system, but most current attempts have fallen apart.
