• That's true, but really table tennis is nothing like Chess in particular, followed by Fishing and it's not much like Golf either. It is much more tiring than the version you're probably thinking of, which is hitting a ball back and forth in a garage!
  
  It is a highly skillful game involving extreme hand eye co-ordination, and whilst it doesn't require much strength, matches do take a surprising amount of endurance. I mean, I am really fit, but after a long match I am pretty sweaty! If you don't understand how the game is played at the higher levels, you should probably search on youtube and see just how hard the people in it try!
  
  Moreover, Table tennis is a game in which you are in direct competition with an opponent, unlike Golf and Fishing, which are solely down to you; in table tennis, like most sports, you actually interact with your opponent and can play to his/her weaknesses etc.

• I am somewhat familiar with the difference between Table Tennis on the level at which you participate and the lesser involved version played in game rooms around the world. The answer wasn't meant as a comparison to the actual rules, skill level, or amount of activity involved in the different sports; like Table Tennis, Chess, Golf and Fishing are dissimilar to what most people consider "sports" and are also common subjects of the "Is it really a sport?" debate. I wrote the answer as a person who is simply an observer, I didn't consider how it would be interpreted when read by someone that is an active participant. Thanks for the perspective!
