OMG I got snowed into Denver International Airport over the holidays last year (2006) for 4 days. It was a nightmare. And also apparently an "act of god" seeing as how they weren't trying to do anything to get us, (travelers) or any employees out of the airport. NIGHTMARE!

Fortunately I've never had that much of a delay. However, my daughter & grandbaby had problems in ATL also. They traveled from SFO to ATL & had to overnight (at her/my expense) in ATL before continuing out the next morning to an alternate airport (to my home). This was with Delta. The return was just as bad. They tried to get her out but said she'd have to overnight (again) in ATL. She changed her flight for the next day to avoid all that rot. (oh, this was booked way in advance) Thank goodness she'd allowed extra vacation days so she wasn't AWOL! Will never travel DL again!

It was overnight at Gatwick airport in London, UK. It was the first time I had been overseas and I was only 16 and I was by myself...that was loads of fun.

Just 2-3 hours in Toledo, Ohio. Went for a seminar. As we (my boss and I) were leaving, we had to sit in the airport at the exit (to the plane). We watched them take the cowling off an engine, leave the plane, come back with others, diddle around, leave it, come back, diddle around, etc. All this time, the cowling was on the ground. After the first 1/2 hour, we were ALL hoping that they'd just switch out planes. They finally did. (May have had to wait for it to come in.) That was better than the puddle-jumper I flew in from San Fransisco to Santa Barbara. As we landed, I saw liquid spraying off the wing-tip. When we got out, I went back and looked and a puddle was forming there. Pointed it out to the pilots. They cancelled their flight back, and were sitting outside the airport, waiting for a ride as I left for the hotel. :-/
