Without the context it's impossible to answer the question accurately because the answer varies slightly but significantly from context to context. However, conceptually and generally, it can be said that: An INTERNAL conflict is due solely to internal forces within the object independent of external factors. An EXTERNAL conflict is due primarily to external forces acting ON the object. So which context were you refering to?
