  • In New York City, it was about that date. In Florida, it was the end of May. Granted, in NYC, we started school in mid-September, and in Florida, we started second week in August.
  • My little bro' goes to a secondary school in our county and he finishes on the 25th July. I go to higher education college and I finished today!
  • For me, it's the 27th of June... And I go back in August...
  • The district I teach in got out June 13th and my own children got out a week earlier. A friend who teaches in Oklahoma got out the last week in May.
  • In Memphis, we got out at the end of May. My HS graduation was May 24th, I think. But school was always out by Jone 1st.
  • The school disctict where I work and where my son goes to school got out on May 30. We started on Aug. 14th I think. We will start on Aug. 12 this year. We did not have a February break. By Federal law you have to go to school at least 180 days. How the school district decides to schedule those days is pretty much up to them. Some school districts are implementing what they call a "modified" schedule. It is not quite year around, but not a long summer. The idea for a shorter summer is that students won't forget as much during the long summer break, and not as much time will have to be spent on review the following school year.
  • when I was a kid, it was always riht around 6-17 and we went back in the middle of September. I think it ends and starts too early now.

  • hm.. it is slightly late, but it's not that bad.. my mom, who's a high school teacher, will still be working that date. I get out (is that the correct expression?) tomorrow, when I've finished my last final exam (I'm going to fail HARD, if I pass I'll be happy, screw high grades, just have to survive)
