You will have to read the paint can label because it varies a lot depending on what kind of paint, the surface, the temperature and humidity in the area.

For some strange reason, red oil base paint always takes longer to dry than other colors.

I would recommend: 1. asking the salesperson at the store, plus, 2. follow precisely the directons on the container.
