  • Three out of five American voters (61%) say their perception of a presidential candidate’s wife is at least somewhat important to how they vote http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/61_say_obama_mccain_wives_influence_vote
  • I don't know much about her, I need to do some research but if what you say is accurate then I suspect that she will not be as visible as some of the other first ladies...I'm not sure what else could be done. I suppose if challenged about her, he would have to be ready for appropriate answers, otherwise, don't bring her up in conversation...fly below the radar.
  • This is a ridiculous question. 3/4th of Americans don't like George W. Bush and John McCain represents 4 more years of his policies! That's what matters not this juvenile nonsense of attacking a candidate's wife.
  • may i ask why you say that michelle obama is viewed negatively by almost half of the american public?
  • No matter if this fact right or wrong, I don;t think it will affect the way OBAMA running ths country if he's elected.
  • I am not American, but I have never heard a single negative comment about Michelle Obama. Have you got a source for your claim?
  • I think Obama needs to look at John Kerry's campaign and look how negative his wife was on his campaign and lock his wife away somewhere if he does not want her to impact his campaign so much. Regardless of where you stand politically about the candidates, Cindy McCain has been doing it right from a first lady perspective by staying as much out of the limelight as possible and not seeking it out. She does a few short interviews here and there and only when they come to her. Nobody wants a president with a maniac for a first lady because they ultimately know she has his ear when he is making decisions and it will impact votes for sure.
  • My biggest problem with Michelle Obama was the day she introduced her husband as "my baby's daddy". It came across as tasteless, tacky, and an attempt to sound like she wasn't out of touch with average America. Not the image a first lady wanna-be should project.
  • Like Hitler before him he will kill the other half that does not agree with him, but really like 33% the other 17% will shut up in fear instead of dying. No big deal really we were born to die anyway.
  • He'll never unify this country. The politicians have so divided the people that it's not going to happen during my lifetime.
  • Maybe some of the onus of work needs to be on the people who need unifying, as well as those who wish to do the unifying. If people are babyish enough to remain divided because they don't like someone's wife, then maybe they deserve division!
  • Obama won't unify the country regardless of what his wife does or doesn't do. She could cure cancer and he;d still want to raise taxes and increase hand outs. That kind of policy doesn't unify.
