Am i wrong or is the phrase "its not all its cracked up to be" a drug reference?

    Interesting theory, but no. : )
    It is a term used to refer to boasting.

    An early meaning of "crack" included boasting, bragging, and talking big. "Not all it's cracked up to be" refers to this meaning. It's not used in the literal sense of a nut being cracked or a block having a crack in it.

    I think it's an egg reference and don't forget to remove the little white thingies (chalazas) because I don't eat those nasty bits. That only works as a drug reference on the south side Holmes.

    I don't believe it is a drug reference Sir K. It just means it (whatever you are discussing) wasn't as great in reality as it was in the 'promos'.

    Nope. It mean that something isn't a great as someone else might think it would be.

    Example: Winning the lottery. Everyone think it would be the answer to all their problems. But it is not all it is cracked up to be. Many people blow all their winnings and are left in serious debt.
