  • Depending on your platform (Win*/MacOS/Linux/Etc) there are different methods but the concept is the same. Find your operating system's 'Device Manager' or similar. And select the writer/ROM from the list. Open the properties for this device and you should find the Make and Model and Serial #. At the very least you'll find the Maker and the model # with that information you can do a quick google lookup and have the full answer. If running a PC another method is to go into your BIOS by holding down the [DEL] key while your computer is powering up, under your IDE device list you should find the make/model of your drive.
