Are you using an antenna or cable?
If antenna, is your antenna a UHF antenna too?
If cable, unless you have a cable box, you'll need to switch the TV's tuner into CATV mode, rather than antenna mode. This might be a switch on the front panel or available only via an on-screen menu.

My RCA television display's unusable signal. I can't get cable or watch dvd's. I also used to watch cable on channel 3 and now my tv isn't even tuned in to get channel 3. What could be wrong and how do I tune in channel 3 again? This is a new 42 inch RCA.
