"Cardiomorphic" is the adjective for something which has a heart shape. "Towards the end of the sixteenth century, the Dutch engraver Anton Wiericx developed for the first time a full series of cardiomorphic emblems entitled Cor Iesu amanti sacrum. Wiericx's emblematic sequence reflected and promoted the cult of the Sacred Heart."
