  • My friend plays that at work. He tried to teach me once, the version we play sounds a little different however. 7's skip the next person in the rotation, J's are a wild card and change the suit to whatever is declared (and affect the scoring at the end), and A's reverse the order. You must say Mao when you are down to one card, and scoring goes like this - all cards are face value - except face cards, J's are 40, Q's are 20 and K's are 30. You want to have the lowest score, and play until someone reaches a certain amount (usually 300). If you go out with a Jack, each player has to double their total for their remaining cards. Double cards play as well, so if you lay two 7's on your turn, it would skip the next person for two rotations - or if you went out with two Jacks, everyone would have to quadruple their points. When you go out - you receive no points :)
