  • Hello my new friend! I wish you the best of luck!
  • Good luck with giving up! :)
  • I did it, Mandie, that was long before help aids..I loved to smoke, loved it..They were my friends. It took me 8 months or more but I cut down to 10, then a week later 9 and so forth..I got down to one half for a long time, then just stopped. You can do it, you will feel better, smell better and even your skin will look better. Im happy you're trying, even though I don't know you, I'm clapping for you now, hear it??? Best of luck..YOU WILL DO THIS---YOU WILL!
  • I have not been in your situation so I can't really give you any tips, but my hubby did and he quit cold turkey. He started using less and less until he quit. He made a promise to himself that he would not be a "smoking" Dad so by the time our kids came around he was done with it. Now he can't stand the smell and he has tried a couple times but they make him sick and he feels dirty the rest of the day. My sister in law had some sort of accumpture when she quit, and there is also hypnosis. I can't say if any of these work, but whatever it takes,huh? This is what I think about is what will happen if you don't quit. I know you know all the studies, so just engrave those in your mind and let them creep you out. Do you know how much time you will be giving yourself and your family back, and think of the money. You could do something like put the money you would send in a savings acct and take a congratulations vacation when you accomplish your goal, it will add up quick! My gpa smoked heavily his whole life and had 3 heart attacks and died having a quad bypass surgery, my gma never smoked a day in her life but got lung cancer from the second hand smoke. So also think about who you smoke around, your hubby? your kids? Friends? You are also harming them and taking away their life span. Creeping you out yet?lol, good luck and I wish you the best!;~}
  • Yes, dammit. No more Scientology.
  • I know quitting is different for everyone, but Mandie I smoked for 25 years. Yes 25 years and I just up and quit one day...July 5 2006. Cold Turkey, dead stop NO patches, pills, gums or groups! Will power 100% My main reason wasn't so much health as it was cost$. They just cost way too much with all the increased taxes and law suit cases etc. I'm not saying it was easy and even still I sometimes wish I still could smoke, but it is for the best.
  • Yes I want you to quit smoking. It's costly and they aren't good for you either.
  • i have not decided to quit yet but i am with you for making your own decisions. good luck
  • i really hope you can kick the habbit.. i hate paying money for these damn cigs.. a couple tips that i've heard after youve stopped.. take deep breaths when you feel like you miss having a cigarette.. maybe try to mock like you actually are smoking a cig..the deep breaths will also calm you down a bit..make sure you have a good stock of gum.. you gotta replace the habbit with something or you'll go nutz..
  • My bad habit is Coca Cola...............I get the jitters If I don't get my fix...........I've cut down buy a glass of water in between my cokes..........I don't think I could ever totally quit!!
