  • It would cost to much money, stop oil production, and endanger the troops..They'd lose so much money by not having oil on the market..
  • Any idea what that would cost...? It would be quite prohibitive... not to mention the effect it would have on the already exacerbated oil prices we're currently dealing with. (Double click image)
  • Yes we would lose so much money without the oil flowing as freely if it were under construction but that isn't the point of the U.S. being there, or at least originally it wasn't the point. We are just supposed to establish a sovergn nation. Plus the implications of an underground pipeline these days are very risky. With all of the environmental hazards that we know oil creates if there was just a small leak in a 100 mile pipeline there could be disasterous effects on the environment surrounding it.
  • The unbelievable cost and sand. The cost speaks for itself. the re-construction would cause a delay and the world would suffer from lack of gasoline. Sand. underground pipelines would have to suffer the effects of shifting sand and sand leaking into the oil and consequenial damages to refineries and engines. Pipeline repairs would also be invaded by the sand. I guess this is why the pipelines were first built above the sand, not under it.
  • It's proved to be very difficult to relay all those insurgents underground.
