• She was nude 2 years earlier in Pretty Baby. That is what the buzz was about. She played a 12 year old prostitute. I believe she used a body double in Blue Lagoon.

• A preadolescent Brooke Shields did appear nude in Loius Malle's Pretty Baby but did not appear either nude or topless in Blue Lagoon. However, there was an underwater swimming scene where she and her costar were treading water clothed and the crotch of her costume drifted to the side exposing her pubic area. This was only noticeable during theatrical play and not in either full screen television, VHS or DVD versions. All of Ms Shields nudity in the film was by a body double. Though Photoshopped images of her face imposed over a body double can be found on the internet. There is a rumor, however, that during the love scene in Endless Love that she performed without a body double though the audience never sees her face during the nude scene of her breasts and posterior. The rumor started when her father commented on a mole or birth mark that appeared during the premiere. The identifying mark has since been "edited" from the VHS and DVD releases. In conclusion, since 1976 it has been unlawful to have a child appear nude or partially nude (pubescent females topless)in an american film there seems to be some leniency in the law for very young actors and long shots of dorsal nudity of older children.

• What I read is that the re-release 5 years later showed her swimming nude. Seems to me that she was nude when I saw it on tv about 9-10 years after it came out.
