Can I use a cell phone purchased elsewhere on Verizon's network, or must I buy from Verizon?

Verizon operates on a CDMA service, so a non-CDMA phone (i.e. AT&T, Sprint, etc) would NOT work. If it has a SIM card, it will NOT work on Verizon.

Just make sure to buy an unlocked CDMA phone, and you're fine.
