  • It would depend on what you are trying to achieve, also possibly your gender. A workout to lose weight is different than a workout to build mass and strength is different than a workout to build endurance.
  • i am a girl and i would like to lose weight for next year at school.
  • There 13?... buy them a trampoline and a pushbike and let them go nuts... 13 year olds shouldn't have nor need workout routines, that’s what happens when you grow up... if the child is a little overweight just check your portion sizes and make sure there getting enough fruit and vedge... then just let them play outside.
  • Do body weight resistence type exercises (i.e. push-ups,incline/decline pushups, diamond push ups, pull-ups, unweighted squats, lunges, two-footed jumps up stairs, wheelbarrow walk on flat ground or up/down stairs, sit-ups, crunches, dorsal raises. jogging and running should also be incorporated on some days.If you go to a health club, light weights on cable type machines can be O.K.(epmhasis on light weight because children don't yet know their body's limitations and can overexert themselves causing hernias, detatched tendons, etc.) They should probably wait until they are about fifteen before they begin to use free weights. Whatever they do, they should be supervised constantly for safety.
  • Eh, you're a little young there sonny, wait till at least 14 minimum, i started at 16 and turned out fine, just play sports, be active and such.
  • while watching TV do 100 sit ups during each commercial ang drink only water for a week
  • For a 13 year old I would say just go outside and play. Run around with your friends, climb trees, ride bikes, roller blade, swim. Those are all ways to tone up while still having fun and not feeling like you are working out to lose weight. I make my kids play outside at least for a few hours a day, with breaks of course because it is really hot here. you could also get involved in sports, Football and cheerleading are both starting now. Make sure you drink plenty of water, limit the sodas, and junk food. Good Luck to you
  • I Would Have To Say Sign Up For A Sport. You'll Get Good Workout And Meet New Friends.

  • If it's for a girl, she and her girlfriends may like a fun aerobics routine, see what's available. Wii also has a great fitness game, probably a little expensive but may be worth it if the child really needs to lose weight. It's never too early to start good physical fitness habits, as long as they aren't too aggressive. Good Luck.
  • For a 13 year old, at least 30 mins a day of aerobic exercise for heart health!
