  • Any high-ball is a good choice. I recommend the Gin & Tonic, although a Vodka Tonic and Rum & Coke are the most popular. Also any Collins drink is a refreshing choice (again, a slave to the gin, I recommend a Tom Collins). They're all easy to make at home as well to the strength you prefer. If you are at a well stocked bar you'll love the Apricot Sour (1 oz. Lemon Juice, 1 oz. Orange Juice, 1 oz. Apricot Brandy). Very tasty but too tart to drink quickly. I guess that would go for any sour drink, with the Whiskey Sour being the most common.
  • Rum&Coke and Collin's drinks are great. I'm fond of the Long Island Iced Tea but you might "go wrong" if you can't hold your liquor on a L.I.. The ole screwdriver is a classic fall back though. ...Okay the question was ...a guy... but what about a girl: (Any of these are good) or go with a mimosa!
  • The other suggestions are good (Rum & Coke, Gin & Tonic, Vodka Tonic, Etc)... But you can also order a margarita on the rocks, or a white russian. Tasty, and socially acceptable. :)
  • Hmm...White Russian sounds a little gay to me. Long Island Iced Tea suggests he'll be all over me by the end of the night. I like when a guy orders a Jack & Coke. It' says he's a guy and he cares enough to go with a good whiskey but isn't so arrogant as to order a true top brand. Jack & Coke is a solid drink.
  • How about a sidecar. It's tasty, but has a kind of masculine name. Or if you're looking for something non-alcoholic, then bitters & soda, or bitters & tonic. Both tasty and masculine.
  • Tom Collins .. it is smooth and not overbearing .. tasty though!
  • make it very simple. you are a guy- np froo froo fruity drink. If you like dark liquors- rum and coke, jack black on the rocjs or with coke, white ligours- vodka tonic, gin tonic, dirty gin martini on the rocks or up. Order a good beer- no Bud or coors or schlits. never ask for a PBR unless you got your house parked outside the restaurant.
