When it's not worth 5 or less and not worth 7 or more... If you're asking from a specific user (as with my kidding aside I am certain you are) then the following two conditions should be met: 1) The answer fulfills the question or at least provides insight or the tools toward obtaining a resolution for the questioner, from another AB user or from the outside. 2) The user has six points to give! I only have five positive points per answer to give, unfortunately... I always get excited when I obtain more AB rating firepower because I love to rate answers.

Every time that you answer one of my questions. Giving out 6 points for my answers received never cost me any money out of my pocket, I give points generously and I expect people to return the favor.
