There's a book you can pick up at your local super-bookstore (Borders, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million...) called "The Illustrator's Market". It gives contact information for multitudes of people in the business - people looking for freelance illustrations for magazines, people looking for illustrators for childrens' books, everything. I believe they put out a new edition every year.
