This will probably come back to bite me on the bum, so I am posting a health warning with it - I cannot tell the future! It's just over five years away. This will give time for the next US administration to either clear America's name or to move further down the road they're presently on. I reckon the latter will happen and 2012 will see USA engaged in a conflict throughout the Middle East. Afghanistan will still be dragging on, sapping money and men for US and UK. Iraq will have been sorted, mostly, through the brutal full re-occupation of US troops, and martial law will be the norm. Iran's pushing to perfect nuclear technology will be almost there, and US will have invaded Syria, allowing Israel to admit its nuclear deterrent, which is now being used as a threat to keep Iran from pre-emptive action. Saudi and its neighbours have finally realised that the danger is to the entire area and has pledged support to the Muslim side, convincing Pakistan to bring its nuclear arsenal to bear. India is staying extremely neutral. Europe is also neutral in the affair, having decline to help America, and is watching from the sidelines with its new trading partners of Russia and China. The schism happened in 2010 when US unilaterally imposed sanctions despite UN warnings. The UN was disbanded after that and UK ceceded from Europe and became a sub-state of America. The population of UK halfed overnight as millions fled to mainland Europe in search of freedom. US's isolationist tactics of the 20th century have now come back to haunt it as its own oil reserves have dried up and the trade in petro dollars has ceased. This occurred in 2009, when Iran finally got its trading partners to use Euros as the oil currency, plunging the US economy into $tillions of debt and sparking the invasion of Syria. Russia, riding high on its new-found wealth is exporting oil to its trading partners only, forcing rationing in US, and prompting a return to the war propaganda of WWII and Vietnam - Your country needs you. Do you mean 2024? According to the Mayan calendar that will be the end of this world. I don't really think there is any way to predict. Personally, I think we humans have outlived our short time on earth. If you look at the planet's history, you'll see that in each era there was a prevailing group of animals and when they became extinct the less competitive groups became the dominants in the next era. Maybe 2012 or 2024 is going to be about the time that happens to us due to our own demise (nuclear war) or from a asteroid hitting the earth, or from some other completely unpredictable event. It's going to happen at some point but we have no way of knowing when or how, so 2012 is probably not the date.

12/21/2012 is supposed to be the end of the solar year. that is, our sun will have made is's revolution around the galaxy. this happens every 26000 years or so. what i find interesting, is that many peoples, from different centuries, have all made predictions of catastrophy. and they all seem to culminate around this time. mother shipton, the hopi indians,st. augustine, and edgar cayce, to name a few. with the possible exception of edgar cayce, it is highly doubtful that any of these people ever heard of eachother, as they were all born in different times, and in different parts of the world. for now, lets concern ourselves with edgar cayce's predictions. primarily because he is the only one of the afore mentioned people, thet lived in the last 100 years. he believed that the earth may shift its poles. its not hard to imagine the problems that this might cause. he said that beginning in 2007, and culminating in 2012, we will begin to see a drasticincrease in the atmospheric extremes. earthquakes, huricanes, etc. and that parts of the atlantic, and gulf coast will be reclaimed by the sea. the united kingdom, is to dissapear in the blink of an eye! a polar shift is possible. it has happened in the past. but it wont necessarily mean an end to the human race.

The Mayans developed a calander system years upon years ago. Supposively, historical evidence shows that every year they've predicted something incredible to happen... the unexpected occurred. The Mayan calander, however, ends at December 21th of 2012.. Whether it was purposeful or just when they decided their hands were too tired is unknown... I guess it's all part of the fun of the unknown and unexpected. :D I guess we'll all find out in a little over 5 years!

I always go back to the Bible verses Matthew 24:33-44, which basically states that "no man knoweth the hour"! At different places it says we will see signs and know the time is near, but none of us will know when. People have been trying for years and years to figure it out, but I don't think it is possible. I just think we can have "our houses in order" and be ready. And, as always, this is my OPINION, from what I have studied over the years.

However, according to some things I have seen recently, the calendar stone does not actually predict the end of the Earth in 2012, rather it predicts the end of a cycle. The ends of these particular cycles are said to be associated with major societal changes. Many issues, whether religious or otherwise, have been predicted over the centuries. The Biblical text does not stipulate a precise date, yet, read carefully - it does state the world will come to an end, as we know it, between 2008 - 2013. The Bible does not state the world will come to an end, but, it does state the world will come to an end as we know it today. The Book of Revelations tells us to be ready at all times as do other prophetic books. With the constant wars (all Biblically clarified) and notions towards a peaceful world - it can easily be stated, wars will be fought between nations and amongst themselves. Are the Mayans correct? Perhaps they are even though they do predict a precise end date per their calendar year. As many matters involving mankind have changed over the years and especially with a world vastly congested with people, simply look at the devastation occurring around you, listen to the governmental leadership and at no time in history has the world been so confused as it is today. This confusion cannot continue under the methodology used to function normally on this planet to date. I 'do not' believe the world will come to a bitter end in 2013 but their will be much turmoil. We are headed towards an international division between all nations and this divisiveness cannot go on forever. I used to be very keen on Terrence McKenna and theories regarding the Mayan Calendar, but to be quite frank - only 4 codexes remaining out of the thousands destroyed by the Spanish conquest leaves scholars ample imaginative analysis to weave their own theories. For instance, there is debate between John Major Jenkins theory and Calleman's, probably John Major Jenkins is more correct though. Regardless, John Major Jenkins points out that the Mayans were incredibly astronomic, it's amazing that Mayan daykeepers had such a detailed knowledge of the stars (as did Egyptians). However, apocalyptic? I'm in doubt, there won't be any supernatural rupture, probably intense political and geopolitical problems but this is only because our current way of living isn't sustainable (living for the now instead of the 'future'). I think the Mayans just wanted to celebrate getting through an age, its hard to define an 'age' with so much variable, regardless, it is interesting reading, but don't worry about it too much that it affects you in the present. Just think on the miracle of life without letting superstition cloud your rational thinking. For instance, I think McKenna is a brilliant writer and mind, however I know he is academically devious and sometimes I suspect him of sophistry, hope that helped my curious friend.

I do not believe it will happen when man says it will. The Bible teaches us that no MAN knows when the end will come and even Jesus does not know when until God the Father says it will end. The Bible does teach us to see the signs of the nearing end. To God one day is a thousand years. To us humans its only 24 hours. Signs of the end nearing have been moving right along for many generations. The point here is to be ready every second of every day because when we die the Bible teaches us we are asleep in death until the resurrection. And after we are gone our chance for repentance is over with. We will be judged after we are raised from the dead. A person could be dead for 2 thousand years and never realize that fact and when they are raised up they will have the same thoughts and actions as when they died. Its like when we go to sleep and sleep for over 10 hours and wake up thinking wow that was like in an instant. Well it is when we have unconsciousness. Aware of nothing; same as dead. Think of the bible with all the the "magical things" with jesus being reborn, so you would think these "gods" would have an effect on time now. These are stories not facts. everyone needs faith in something to live thier life of course I do, I believe in god and after life it makes death less scary. Show me some facts that these so called powers of knowing what will happen in the future are actually going to happen and then tell me the world is going to end. Just my opinion and Im only 15. I mean come on, did anything happen on 6/6/06?

No one knows when the end of this wicked system will be, I don't think the world is gonna end. According to the bible the earth will last for time indefinite
