  • thats only 3...but i would say out of the 3 whoever has the emergency lights on, or if thats not an issue since they all arrived together it would probably be the one that pulls out first and makes the other cars slam on brakes. but if that happens if its the mail truck or ambulance that does it, it may make the cop mad and theyll get pulled over. :) detailed huh?
  • You only mentioned 3. Of those 3, if the amublance has a flashing red light, then it goes first Then the one on the right goes next. If there were 4 cars, and one was Joe Average Driver, then I think the cop car goes next, then whomever is to the right of the cop car.
  • If either the Ambulance or Police car have their sirens on and or lights, they have the right of way. Otherwise, just GO LOL
  • I've been told, amazing as it may seem, that the United States Postal Service(mail truck)has the right of way regardless. (Course somebody could have just lied to me or could have just said that to me to simply just say it???)I remember being 'amazed' myself at the answer, thinking how could that be? Just don't seem right. ?? Especially if the Police or Ambulance have their sirens going!
  • The police car would give the right of way to an ambulance, even if both had their sirens going, because actually saving a particular human life would be more urgent than whatever potential action the police might be on their way to take. Then the cop car would go. After that, the one on the right takes precedence.
  • Since none of these vehicles is specified as responding to an emergency, I don't think it matters what sort they are. They have to resolve it the same way each of us do: the person on the right goes first. This yields an endless circle which resolves itself when the bald guy with the Hummer pulls up and then whips around the cop in disgusted indignation, leaving a trail of rubber and burnin 3 gallons of gas in the process. Now the cop can turn on his lightbar and go first.
  • In driver's ed class.. 1971... we were told the mail truck would have the right-a-way. The reason given was the mail truck could be delivering something in that had to do with national security, etc. I think that nowadays, an email would be quicker or FedEX/UPS.
