In the US, our news does not spend much time on it, so few people know about it.

Most probably don't even know, keithold. The "media" is preoccupied with other things. And there are few really gutsy journalists anymore who would go there on an assignment even if asked by their "employers". It is an odd thing that our knowledge and opinions of what goes on in the world is dominated by the news media, but we only hear what we are told by them. The "information age" is not what it is cracked up to be.

Because there isnt any oil there

We are in the uk, i don't think other countries recieve the coverage we do to know what a murdering racist thug Mugabee is

From what I've seen everyone who is in a position to actually do anything is upset, and the rest of us who do know about it are not in any position to do anything, anyway. Not all of us are activists.

That's sadly because it is a third world nation in Africa, that's why. If it had oil, then it would be a totally different ball park but sadly, this may be the truth.

Some of us are, I've been upset with events there for more than 30 years. There were (are) resources of value in Rhodesia and the country thrived right up until that socialist racist despot Robert Mugabe wrested control of the country and changed the name to a more appropriately African name. Five years ago Crest toothpaste ran a commercial about their supposed humanitarian efforts in Africa, the TV spot showed a traditionally dressed African woman with a jug on her head walking a trail. The voice over said; In Zimbabwe there are no dentists anywhere to be found (or some such complaint) Funny how when the country was called Rhodesia it was a thriving productive nation with a real GNP. Now that Mugabe is in control, murder and all crime is up, property (REAL ESTATE) theft abounds (land piracy), there is rampant disease(aids) and abject poverty. Even the cursed ground refuses to yield crops for such a spiritually desolate land. Despots like Mugabe, Mandela, Aidid and Amin are much the same, they are cancer. Those who fought bravely to hold back what they must now endure under Mugabe's reign of terror, my hat is off to you. But there are those who, under the illogical ideological notion of equality for all, have supported the violent overthrow of thriving colonial nations like Rhodesia about 28 years ago, shame on you, this is your fault. What to do about it? Kill Robert Mugabe and replace him with someone who won't dick off like a King while everyone else starves in the ditch.
