I hated that she did that and questioned why she felt the need to put a label on that character. Literature is subjective to each reader, but he is a character and I don't think any label should have been placed.

She's the author, she gets to explain what she had in mind when she created her characters. No one can tell her she's "wrong" - they are HER characters, after all. I don't know what all the fuss was about. This was clearly indicated in the last few books where Dumbledore was featured, especially when talking about his "rivalry" for a particular woman and the result.

Well, it's about *time* young gay wizards & witches had a role model to look up to.

Whats wrong with him being gay? It never dawned on me when I read the books but when it was announced, it makes sense. Even so, he was the wisest and most powerful wizard and in my opinion, the coolest character in the series. On a side note, now its another reason for Christians to hate the books... first it was witchcraft, now its gays.

Oh! Simply classic.... simply CLASSIC! You should have seen the fan's reactions!

I was mildly shocked but I wonder who was slipping him the magic wand on the sly. I always suspected that Severus Snape might go that way. I bet they were secret lovers.
