It depends on which aspect you want to focus on. If you just want to do the driving, then your job description is professional test driver. You should be aware that there are not many such positions in the industry. Furthermore, I remember reading an interview with one such driver. It can be a *lot* more tedious than you might imagine as you drive the same closed course over and over and over again while the engineers make minor tweaks to some tiny parameter. If, on the other hand, you want to be one of the engineers who makes those tweaks, then your job description is automotive engineer (or some variant of mechanical engineer). If this truly is your career ambition, I recommend getting an engineering degree and investing significant time in becoming an accomplished driver in some form of auto racing. Good luck
