1976 Toyota Pickup (longbed). Car turns over after a few tries (cranks strongly). Runs for maybe 50 seconds, then sputters and dies dispite trying to keep it alive.?

    i had the same difficulty w/ a 1978 toyota.
    change the fuel filter and add some rubbing alcohol to the gas there may be water in gas.if that does not help
    carburetor is shot.i replaced it w/ a 2bbl weber,that was cheaper and had 10X the performance of the stock carb.

    clean out fuel line and replace fuel filters.
