Question

Help answer this question below.

I am able to view a DVD movie using a newer T.V. using rca plugs [left/right] but I am unable to view it using the same DVD player [Insignia NS-DVD1] on an older model RCA TV model F20345HN. I plugged into input jacks but so far nothing. Can it be done?

It depends on which "RCA plugs" you are using. Are you using the composite video or component video cables?

It's likely the older TV does not have a component video input, only composite.

If you are in fact using the composite video cable (a single cable, vs. three required for component video), it should work ok, assuming you've put the DVD player in interlaced mode and standard resolution.

If you still can't get it to work, try the RF output of the DVD player (if it has one)... maybe that will be good enough until you figure out what the problem is.
