I lived just North of Detroit. I went to a Halloween party down there one year. Going through the City I saw this poor guy getting beaten up by a gang of guys. I was so scared. I would go to the Ren Ctr and Greek Town. After a while, I just didn't feel safe. A few years ago, my niece went down there to see the FireWorks for July 4th. While the Fireworks were seen LIVE on TV a crazy man with a gun was shotting through the crowds. My niece was around that area. We were all upset till we heard she was okay. Based on my personal experience I didn't feel that safe about Detroit. Here is a link that I found. It is an article that names Detroit as the most dangerous US City written 2007. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,312106,00.html

I only know the riots that they show on TV when the thugs burn things and turn TV trucks upside down, and various surveys of the worst city in the US, and it is nearly always Detroit. Even the mayor is a criminal, and 50 thousand people have moved away over the past five years.

I went to Detroit in the 90s, and didn't think I would make it out alive. I went to a supermarket to get some money, I guess it was a black neighbourhood, and everthing went silent. They were all looking at this "white guy" and WTF was he doing here. I went to a Burger King and none of the blacks would serve me. They kept on serving black people, and ignoring me. Eventually a white guy came out from the back and told me to go to a differnt part of town, as I would get in trouble where I was. Maybe things have changed since, but man, going to Detroit was a bad experience.

Hockey is a "white sport" that has fans who follow laws more than they disobey them.
