  • I think I have always had it. I can remember as far back as my early childhood sitting in bed at late hours with my mom eating crackers and cheez whiz because I couldnt sleep.
  • going to sleep has always been tricky but as I've gotten older it's gotten worse I can't sleep at all withou those over the counter pills
  • I've had it as long as I can remember; it's recently gotten severe due to tremors and muscle drawing so I'm not often 100% when I'm here so bear with me if I don't make sense sometimes :-/
  • the abuse in my past caused mine, i wouldnt shut my eyes for fear of my dreams, but its getting better now slowly.:-)
  • I would allow myself to sleep really late, and I would also do alot of things in bed, like eat, homework, craft projects. I guess doing others things besides sex and sleep in bed are not good for people with insomnia.
  • I'm thinking too much.
  • That is a good question. I guess I will have to lay awake thinking about it, now!
  • You can develop it in several ways. It could be a chemical imbalance. It could be stress, it could be depression, it could be over working. I have it because it was self taught. I had to go long periods without sleep, so I trained myself to not sleep. Now, I have no real sleep pattern.
  • A combination of hormonal disorders, physical pains, and lifestyle woes have turn me into this. That's the short end of a long story. I think, the only time in my life that I didn't have it, I was an older teenager (17, 18, 19). But I slept too much.
  • I've had insomnia during times of anxiety and stress.
  • From constant worry. That'll do it.
  • I guess all the PSTD and added stres just kept building until I wasnt sleeping . At first is was tossing and turning with some sleep . Then I just started waking up at 2 and 4 am . Now I sleep in little naps when possible.
  • uhm, i thought insomnia was when you dont sleep like at all. but, from what ive read its only sleeping a couple hours. wow. i never realized it, but i guess i have it,since i stay up days at a time or sleep for 3 or so hours. i dont know how i got it, probably cuz i wanted to stay up late when i was younger and its been that way ever since. ive never like going to sleep tho, so i guess mines lame. unlike most people on here, who have diseases or something? no offense intended of course.wooooow,. unles im wrong about this, then i just sounded like a comlete fool. haha.
  • From being overly stressed and having anxiety did it for me.
  • It started with motherhood: interrupted nights for 11 years. Now, I just can't sleep deeply and when I have something on my mind I automatically wake up and can't fall back asleep.
