Unfortunately, I smoke...I started smoking as a relief from a stressful time several years ago, and pretty soon I found myself addicted. So now I smoke up to 1 1/2 - 2 packs a day. You have plenty of time before August 1 to psyche yourself up. See your doctor about going on Chantix. Maybe try nicotine patches and gum, and find something to do with your hands for the times you would normally be holding a cigarette. Substitute something like a candy cane or a pencil to hold like a cigarette.

I smoke, I have been slowly going to stronger and stronger cigarette's, I am now on Marlboro reds. I quit for a year, and the best way for me was to wean myself, if you smoke 2 packs, smoke enough of a cigarette to make your body happy, then save the rest for later, making sure not to smoke more than 1.5 packs that day, the next day or so, work yourself to 1 pack, then down to 3/4 of a pack, then 1/2 a pack then 1/4 a pack... then to 2, then 1, then none... it's easier and a lot less of a shock to your body.. it may take a few weeks to a month depending on how much you smoke per day.
