A spay is not always done with a cesarean, depends on the owners wishes. A comlicated spay can give a big scar like that. If you can afford it, an ultra sound and an explorative laparotomy can tell you if she's been spayed or not. Advatage of ultrasound is no aneashesia but if she needs a spay, its extra costs. Advantage of exl lap. is if she needs the spay it can be done immediately. The other option is to wait for 6 months to see if she comes into heat or not.

should be a a scar in the middle of belly, going long ways, or if done at a shelter there would be a tattoo. I really hope you find a good home a vet should be able to tell also. I am sure one at your shelter would tell you for free
