Help answer this question below.
It seems to be a mild type of infection...
Is there a free clinic near you, perhaps...?
I'm surprised that whoever diagnosed your boyfriend did not also provide him with treatment...
The symptoms of infection can be medically managed, and a proportion of patients can be cleared of the virus by a course of anti-viral medicines. Although early medical intervention is helpful, people with HCV infection can experience mild symptoms, and consequently do not seek treatment. An estimated 150-200 million people worldwide are infected with hepatitis C.
You can read more about it here-

A diagnosis of HCV doesn't necessarily mean you need treatment.
You may need treatment if
The National Institutes of Health recommends treatment for HCV if you have:
A positive test result indicating hepatitis C virus circulating in your bloodstream
A biopsy that indicates significant liver damage
Elevated levels of a liver enzyme called alanine aminotransferase (ALT) in your blood
You may not need treatment if
If you have only slight liver abnormalities, your doctor may decide against medical treatment because your long-term risk of developing a serious disease is slight, and the side effects of treatment can be severe.
On the other hand, because there's no foolproof way to know whether you'll develop liver disease later on, your doctor may recommend fighting the virus. Improved treatment methods and a higher success rate in fighting hepatitis sometimes tip the balance in favor of more aggressive approaches.

I am someone who finished the interferon/ribavirin treatment protocol a few months ago and CLEARED the Hepatitis C virus. I am considered CURED! DO NOT just let this go, many will develop cirrhosis of the liver AND OR LIVER CANCER!
Yes, the treatment can be uncomfortable, it was like having the flu for 6 months, length of treatment depends on which genotype you have, I had 2a, most in the US have genotype 1 and that requires 48 weeks of treatment. It is chemotherapy, but they do not inject you with "radiation" how stupid.
The Roche company GAVE ME the Pegasys (their interferon) and Ribavirin meds FOR FREE. I went to the COUNTY HOSPITAL where I lived and was approved for ALL BUT FREE medical, I paid $20 per visit to the Liver Specialist, NOTHING for lab work. I have Hep C. The Emergency room won't do anything. I know people who lived well into old age, for decades, without any treatment. People who continued to drink and use heroin. My ex girlfriend had a blood transfusion in the 70's as a baby and didn't find out she had the virus until she was 31, and had two kids with her husband. The virus was not spread to her kids, or her husband of 17 years. The most common treatments are ribaviran, and interferon. It's an ugly treatment where they inject you with radiation. Like chemotherapy. Good luck
your going to want to go to a doctor or the emergency room regardless if u have insurance or not! its critical that you get him there. they can just bill you and you can just pay if off at a later date. its an emergency so a doctor or the hospital will help and treat him. you should go now!
Do you know anyone with hepatitis C?
