Why do some people think that if a woman makes an effort with her appearance she must be an airhead?

I donno, it seems to follow that those with a low to average IQ are more concerned with the superficial stuff than anything else.

I would bet that the "Some People" you are referring to are very classy individuals and it would be a shame if you miss out on befriending them. The reason they would assume that anyone who takes pride in their appearance is an airhead, is because they do not have the intelligence to take care of themselves and miss their mommies, thus causing a great feeling of loss which in turn causes them to lash out.

It's the same as people thinking that you wear suspenders, your a slut. NO! I just really hate tights, thats all. People prejudge things, but it's their loss. I either get treated like a vunerable little girl or a prostitute when people first meet me. However, once told that I am not a vunerable little girl or having their ball kneed, they soon give up on their preconceptions

I was thinking about this the other day. If you notice, in politics, you can be attractive, but if you are too attractive, this is not acceptable. When I was younger, my mother did not think it was good to be too concerned with appearance. I achieved a lot, but felt unattractive. So, I set out to improve my appearance and suceeded. I found out that even relationships that are attracted to you because of attractiveness can be fleeting. Maybe some people who are attractive rely on this and not the person inside, this gives beauty a bad rap. That's all I know.
