What coastal South Carolina juvenile venomous snake has yellow and black checkered coloration?

    You are most liiting; likely talking about a Pine Snake (also called Bull Snake). They are non-venomous constrictors and get up to about 6 feet long. They hiss when threatened, but are not prone to biting when kept in captivity. Some are very dark, almost black.
