Are there different requirements for being a commerical real estate broker versus a residential broker?

    The answer to your question will depend on your state's requirements. Find your state's department of licensing and look into real estate licensing for the answer.

    In terms of knowledge requirements the short answer is YES! While there are similarities between residential and commercial, being an expert in residential does not qualify you as even a novice in commercial real estate.
