I reside in louisiana, i am a 16 year old female without a license. my mother and i received tickets for not wearing our seat belts. on my ticket it said i was male instead of female, can i avoid paying the fine?

    Louisiana law is, unlike all other US states, French-based. In that system there are so many unfamiliar aspects that it would be best for you to check with a legal professional in Louisiana.

    I don't know about louisiana, you'd have to check the law books, but in Montreal you wouldn't have to pay....you'd be 'free' because of a technicality

    No. the violation still occured. if all other info. is correct, the citation is still valid.

    The officer can make this correction in court.
