  • Breaking up with a friend is hard to do but it's sometimes necessary. The relationship runs it's course, you grow different directions, or your friend becomes too much to handle. I've done this a few times. I usually just stop calling, then I stop answering the phone, over time they get the hint. Or you can tell him...
  • Is this the friend who used to be your best friend but isn't treating you as one? If so, I'd just reclassify the friendship (i.e., reconsider how important he is in your life). You're not his best friend any longer. Things like this happen as we meet new people and find new crowds. If that bothers you, then you should just minimize his importance in your life and pick a new best friend. I don't know if telling the friend that you're ending the friendship (and then deal with the drama that surrounds that event as your other friends try to get you two to reconcile) is the best course of action.
  • Not if seeing him upsets you so much. You don't have to be rude to him but just fade out of his life. Delete his e-mail if you feel like it and let the friendship go to being an acquaintanceship instead.
  • Go ahead you know better, what to do with your life.
