Quite a bit of room really. In order to be buried there a person needs to pretty much be retired military, combat awarded such as Purple Heart, Bronze Star etc or better yet killed in combat. Real fact for most veterans and why it isn't filled is that it is up to family to ship the body there. That is expensive. And family usually wants them interred closer to home. Consequently many other veteran't cemeteries are filled or close to it, furter limiting. Allowance by the VA is $500, Social Security provides.$600. Usually the $500 by the VA is just enough to pay for a basic head stone. Shipping of a deceased over state line requires an accompanying person. Usually the cost amounting to that of three First Class tickets, or from such as LA, about $5000.
