As light already travels through dark matter, it would make no difference upon the results. The special theory of relativity states that a particle (that has mass) with subluminal velocity needs infinite energy to accelerate to the speed of light, although special relativity does not forbid the existence of particles that travel faster than light, none has ever been observed or recorded.

The answer hypothetically "no" to my question cannot be arrived by what you have stated. Light plays no part in my scenerio other than a measure of velocity. Nor do particles restricted to the speed of light as I've stated before. Your comment is off-base and does not apply to the question.
