Question

Help answer this question below.

I'm going on my first airplane trip in 2 weeks and I was just wondering what I can expect from parking, to going through the airport, to the actual plane ride, to landing?...I'm going from Denver to Boston, (and back). And I'll be flying United. Thanks

Expect a lot of people and a lot of queues. This isn't always the case, but if you expect it and prepare for it then your opportunity to get there on time increases. Parking in Denver is well marked and easy. Plan to only carry on baggage if you can get away with doing that -- keeping your bags in your possession takes away opportunity for somebody else to misplace them. Go to the airport with government issued photo identification as well as your ticket. Check in 1.5 hours early to allow for potential bottle necks at the security check. The plane will inevitably be full and as per recently released statistics, as it is a United flight, it stands a good chance of being delayed.

Make sure you check the airlines rules about what you can/can't carry on( like sizes of bottles with liquid, etc.)and Don't have on any metals that set off the metal detectors, so you can make it thru without getting a more thorough search done. Take something to read /occupy your time while waiting and flying. I always had an ipod with music (and a few movies downloaded) to drown out the noise in the plane.

I always say a little prayer that I have a safe take off, flight, and landing.

Also, if you wants anything to drink during the flight, you have to buy it AFTER you pass thru security. You might also want some gum to unpop your ears as you ascend/ descend. It can also get a little chilly in the cabin, so you might want to take a sweater, just in case.

You might also want to research the question on AB about where to sit on a plane...lol. You can usually pick your seat on line, if you do it soon enough.
    HAVE A GREAT FIRST FLIGHT!!!

expect difficulty in parking...depending if you fly the red eye or not if you fly a very early flight or a very late flight parking and security wont be that bad. the seats arent that comfortable and getting off the plane can take up to 45 minutes. have fun!
