I don't know if being called weird equates to just getting their attention, but I would guess that if a guy is called weird by girls, he dresses weird, looks weird, acts weird, or maybe stares or does something peculiar. I seriously doubt it is a positive thing or a compliment.

I would guess: "I think you're cute and I like your style, but my stuck-up friends would taunt me mercilessly if I said so." Or you really are creepy...Mendtos said it well.
