  • In captivity- death is normal when the female stops giving milk and the male stops breeding. That is when the owners figure they might as well eat them. Pets are such a small percentage that I am not saying anything about them.

  • the average life span is as long as the goat keeps giving something to its owners. After that they go behind the shed to go to greater pastures. :)
