  • The only way you will be able to get out of this is to show the cop had a poor view of the violation allegedly committed. I think you have merit because the cop should have been watching where he himself was going therefore "could" have been mistaken when EXACTLY you changed lanes. However if you lose you will pay additional court cost for the hearing so weight out the pros and cons first
  • While it is true that in some places you may face court costs for fighting a ticket,In most places you do not. If your ticket has a court date on it (Something like pay x amount or appear on this date) it will not cost you to show up (besides maybe a few hours of your time). 8 times out of ten nobody will be there to contest you and your case will be thrown out on the spot. This is my experience with traffic violations in Alberta, Canada. Look into your local system, it will be worth it to know your rights and responsibilities.
  • plead not guilty and tell the judge you didnt do that and you dont understand how that cop could have said that you did that when he was driving in front of you and the judge will most likely throw it out because they wont believe the cop if they were out front just play innocent and emphasize that you're innocent
  • This sounds like a chicken shit ticket, how petty. I would fight it, as all said above in other post, I think you have a good chance. I drive for a living and recieve numerous tickets on this calibur and I have won 95 percent of the time, this is my experience.
